This painting by Juan Lucena was made in honor of all the deceased grandmothers and grandfathers who were unable to say goodbye to their grandchildren due to repressive dictatorial legislation. It is estimated that half a million elderly people have died lonely and abandoned in nursing homes and hospitals since March 1920.
