Yesterday I was talking to my 5 yr old son about why he can't play Call of Duty. He was very mad at me. He didn't understand why his friend is allowed to play it, but he isn't. I told him that his friend is older than him, and his friend's mom is a bad mom. (I know i shouldn't say that, but she makes bad decisions a lot) Then my son asked "Why did he choose her if she's a bad mom?"
"You don't get to choose your family, bud."
"Yes huh. I chose you!"
" What? You did? You chose me to be your mommy?"
"Yeah. I picked you because you're nice, and pretty, and I could trust you."
Definitely tearing up at this point!
"When did you pick me, bud?"
"When i was in your tummy."
I'm still shocked and so touched. I was not expecting the conversation to go in that direction!
