"big" tech has really ramped up the info required to get through to what you need. recently i had to file something through the state, and had to go through IDme, upload 4 official doc's with my name, addy, one was birth cert, one was ssn. then i had to upload a selfie and have a f2f voice chat with a rep. left me uncomfortable cuz of what can be done with it. then ran into a situation where another was requiring voice recordings.
