As an American Citizen I too take that Oath for one day I maybe call to do my duty when necessary.
As a Norwegian citizen I took the oath to defend Her against foreign and domestic enemies, because if She is not free,no nation is free, this is the call I got and that I took 100%
I think the oath is maratim law and it ment something when I took it
I atleast felt something happen to me when I did,and was called on multiple levels to take it
