I cannot argue with you EXCEPT to say that part of learning from mistakes is to understand the pain or damage one did.

Yes you can, it is always our choice to make, perhaps what MvA is referring to is Karma credits, and blessing our enemies.
If we can get to a point to not really wish harm on them, but rather just bring them to justice & turn them over to God with zero angst then we receive the blessing.

Exactly! Forgiveness is for your healing not for them. A hard lesson to learn but so basic and simple to live with. I am an empath and trust me when I say for me it was absolutely essential for me to keep going.
