Isn't this the path of the image VK told us to save for later? Does anyone have It?

Get prepped and stay safe Florida Patriots.

Remember it's flood waters and storm surge that are the most dangerous element with these so if you are on the coast or in a low lying area, please get out of town.

If inland and out of a flood zone, take the high winds very seriously. Downed trees can come down through roofs and or if low pressure blows out your windows, all hell breaks loose inside. Make sure you have a central room without windows, stocked that your family can hunker down in, radio, blankets, flashlights and especially SHOES (may have to run over broken glass or hot wires- so rubber bottoms-sneakers) for everyone and a bug-out bag in case you have to make a run for safe shelter.

I have been through one hurricane. We were told:
- tape an X on windows to help the vibration from shattering
- secure β€œeverything” outside that could become a projectile
- a couch flipped on its back can help barricade from flying glass
- hurricanes can spawn tornadoes
- tap water may not be safe to drink for a few weeks
- back half of the storm blows the other way & can snap weak trees

Praying for all in the path πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»

Taping the windows was proven to be of no use if the glass gets blown in or a projectile comes flying through, and it's hard to get off and leaves a residue not easy to clean. I wouldn't bother.

Keep the place closed tight is the key. Some think that leaving windows open helps to equalize the pressure as it drops and it drops- ears pop, no fun. Open windows make it worse and will ensure blowouts.

Yes, bring everything lose outdoors inside.

Couches and mattresses can become great shields if the roof goes, yes.

Tornadoes are a threat and Floridians do not have basements. The most central room, on the lowest floor without windows is the best place to be.

I've been in them all. I would drive up to Mt Ida to chill while it passes myself. No one needs that kind of excitement.

Do all of your laundry, dishes, and vacuuming. If it hits and the power is out for days weeks or months, even if your home isn't breached, you will wish you did your laundry, dishes, and vacuumed.
