Dont let the news channels freak you out. Talk to folks in your area that have been through storms. Do get the recommended stuff in case you lose power. And just for the record...a cat 1 or cat 2 storm doesnt "slam" into anything unless it's moving very slowly and just sits on top of you. (Alicia, Ike, Harvey survivor)

thank you Widget. and yes, coming from California where when a chair falls over in the wind they act like it’s the storm of the century I’m used to the overblowing of weather. And so yes I am asking friends we’ve made who have lived here their whole lives on some guidance. 😀
