Hi Charlie, we have frogs here that look similar and are small, medium and a very large sized... problem is they are poisonous for pets..all the dark bumps are the poison and if a dog or cat bites them you have to quickly rush them under a running faucet, turn their heads sideways so the don't swallow and rinse, rinse, rinse and then take to vet (if they make it through the water treatment) for an antivenom.... Strange huh?

Interesting and Yes, I have heard that too...I was new to FL 3 years ago so I had a great neighbor tell me as soon as we moved in bc she knew I was from Cali and we didn't have those at the beach...
Thank God she warned me, but turns out my baby could care less about them.. I assume most tropical areas have these suckers too...We also have some HUGE Iguanas.. Lord... Like the HUGE Alligators aren't enough.. 😳

Lucky for me Finn could care less about them and completely ignores them (He is the smartest dog ever! LOL)...but I have several neighbors who's dogs did bite one and they either made it through (barely) or died... So sad for them, but they just got a new puppy and he is a salt & pepper Schnauzer like mine... Adorbs!!
I think she learned her lesson now.... I had told her 2 years ago not to let her dog near them, no walking at night, etc and I think now she knows...
