Mitochondrial health is an indicator of overall cell health

Healthy mitochondria exhibit a difference in electrical potential across the lipid bilayer that surrounds them, and some fluorescent dyes will accumulate inside mitochondria as long as this potential difference is maintained.

Have always felt it was a dimming! Or, more parasitic...like a theft of light energy! The mitochondria need the lipid bilayer to be highly charged. Something is stopping that from happening. Crystalization???

Titanium dioxide (TiO2), one of the more commonly used physical UV light blockers, can react to create free radicals, which may react with and damage DNA and lead to mutations which may cause or contribute to cancer.

In these experiments, specific light sources were shown to activate the HIV gene and/or promote viral replication. UVC was the most potent activator.

According to [47, 48] , UV radiation mediates its biological effects on biomembranes predominantly via the reaction of ROS on the cell membrane, leading to the deterioration of the membrane lipids, rearrangement of the phospholipid bilayer, and pore formation.
