It doesn't make sense for them to become a bank, unless they're going to be a bank only for crypto coin. Otherwise it wouldn't be a wise or financially viable move to compete with all the established banks like Chase and BofA.
They would be a bank that runs on XRP / XRPL and they are already partnered with thousands of other banks around the world. So if they are doing this strategically I am sure they have covered all pros and cons. Who knows for sure though but I totally what you are saying!

It wouldn't affect the value of XRP coins. There are 100 billion XRP coins, or tokens. I think their value will be based on the ratio of coins to total wealth worldwide. The total amount of global wealth is 1540 trillion. Divide 1540 trillion by 100 billion and that should be the answer.
