what would you do if someone was bad mouthing a family member because of a refusal to give them the equity in your home to placate a baby mama?

I am dealing with this.

Do I confront this person about saying crappy things and total lies about a family member?

Do I stay silent to not fuel the fire?

Yes, there are children involved and it involves a divorce (not mine).

I feel like this is so weird and I don't want to see a family member get scammed by the sketchy baby mama.

WTF gives her the right to think she is entitled to someone's assets (a senior citizen)

Basically, if she does not give them the money and pick put a cardboard box to live in, then she cannot see the children.

This is EVIL

Baby mama is not married and wants welfare for her children from the government and this is how she has survived her adult life. She is not family. The father is family. She has 2 children from someone else, and 1 child with the father.

But they had a marriage and invited all family to come and give gifts, and then they did not record the marriage certificate, so they are both single, and Florida does not recognize common law marriage. They say they are married in the "eyes of God," but they lied to their own children, plus all family.

Then they decided that the senior citizen needs to give the baby mama the equity in her home, or she cannot see the children. So the child is 3 years old, and has never met the father's family.

She did this to her own grandmother, and the grandmother gave her the money. Now the father is calling family to pressure the senior citizen for the money.
